Still drinking well. As before, light-ish in presence but nice subtleties showing through the fruit: bit of barnyard, herby, bitter medicinal shades. Lovely.

Klar, rød med mildt oransjestikk. Godt utviklet nese med jord, litt kjeller, mørke bær (nesten mot solbær) samt lett hint av kokte jordbær. Godt på vei utviklet frukt som nå fremstår noe slapp. Frisk, delikat syre. Flott, krydret lengde. Drikk opp.

Garnet with a hint of rust. This is a meaty NSG started to hit the spot after 20-30 minutes air time. It offers slightly rustic bitter/sweet red fruit, cherry pit, iron shavings, and a floral component which hints of rose oil. The wine impresses on the palate, rather the nose, which has decent weight, fresh acidity and slightly grippy, but round tannins. It culminates with a nice, focused finish that has a moderate length. I like the balance of this wine and there's a Barbaresco-like nature to the flavour profile and structure. I would say another 5 years sleep for peak drinking.

The '07 Chevillon Villages displayed all of the barnyard nose characteristics that you would expect, very similar to many Oregon Pinots, along with some dark berry aromas. A very pleasant nose that further led the unsophisticated Burgundy taster toward the anticipated Premier Cru experience of the earlier Chevillon Les Bousselots. But on the palate the differences began to become apparent. The Villages Burg was relatively open and ready to be enjoyed with lots of fruit and some earthy tones. The wine developed nicely in the mouth and maintained a relatively long and enjoyable finish. However, there was a slight abruptness to the overall balance that definitely separated this Villages wine from the earlier Premier Cru.
Overall the Villages version was enjoyable and earned a rating of 89 points on my personal Burgundy scale. It would be interesting to see what a couple of more years in the cellar might bring to this wine. But considering the $56 price tag, I think I'll pass in favor of the Premier Crus that are only a couple of dollars more.

Typical 2007 fruit with sweet overripe notes and a very open palate. Light bodied, not very long nor complicated. A very good everyday Burgundy, especially at the price I paid (23 EUR).

Colour is a vibrant light red/ruby. Beautiful aromas of small red berries, cherry and subtle spice. All this is present on the palate which is sappy and contains quite a bitter streak that reminds me of radicchio - interesting. Tannins are moderate, but very fine - silky even, rather than powdery. Nice, approachable acids. Finish is medium at best, but fresh and clean. I like this a lot.

Surprisingly light in colour & viscosity. Raspberry nose, raspberry & strawberry chantilly in taste. Thicker flavour than appearance. Good finish, slightly alchoholic, no perceptible tannin. Worked well with buttery sauces.

Drunk over 3 hours. Initially a bit closed, not so much nose. Opened up after a while, and gave nice balance. Nice red fruits, and an animal note which grew over the evening, and gave a strange aftertaste... But not unpleasant in any way.

App: Dark purple red Aroma: Intense spices, old smoking pipes, 'mink' Full bodied and high acidity. Intense palate, with notes of Mink farm (in a nice way), red berries and bitter salads on the palate Good length
Interesting palate, but weird

The smell pulls you in -- is it oak? Or just loam? Or salty minerality? Or just great brown sugar Pinot spice? It my palate it is all of them
Its all of them, with depth on the palate, silky pinot acidity and fruit, and then palate clensing grip. And this is all just off of the cork pull. I am diving in.
I seem to really be hitting this in a wonderful spot. Wow, this is blowing me away.
Two hours in a medicinal, animal note is creeping into the wine.

Nose has darker, black cherry notes. Some nice mineral and earth, with a touch of floral and violets. Lighter bodied with upfront, young tannins and acid. Minerally black cherry and floral hints.

Red Burgundy (Waterford Wine Co., Milwaukee): showing a darker fruit presence on the nose. something here suggests to me some stem inclusion. (and yes upon investigation, at least 30%, http://www.greatdomaines.co.za/chevillon_text.html) light green spice on the nose. more sweetness of fruit on the palate with a nice medium finish. very caressing minerality opens up on the palate a la crushed fossil/diatoms.

Very faint nose of cherries and earthiness; much more fruit and flavor on palate - young and holding back a bit, but still pretty. Is my favorite of the 3 NSG tastted - Les Roncieres and the Les Vacrains were the other two.

Very dry finish but lovely wine, if a touch watery, which I guess is the vintage.
