In a really great spot right now, sorry to say that this was my last bottle. Nicely balanced wine and if I could pry some out of Mike's cellar, I would take them.

CT Texas IV - A Hill Country Treat; 5/18/2012-5/19/2012 (Austin, Texas): Nose of cassis, blackberry, vanilla, mocha, spice, hint of cedar and bell pepper. On the palate, rich sweet black fruit, currants, cedar, mint, licorice. Finishes with great balance. Drink with a short decant or continue to hold.

Popped and poured. Far different than the last tasting. Notes are from the last glass. Nose of cassis, blackberry, vanilla, mocha, spice, hint of cedar and bell pepper. On the palate, rich sweet black fruit, currants, cedar, mint, licorice. Finishes with great balance. Drink with a short decant or continue to hold. This has enough stuffing to go long. Great first effort Mike, congrats.

I have to say that my notes are going to be consistant with Robs. We poured into a decanter and drank over the period of an hour or so. My overall opinion on the wine is we commited infanticide. This wine needs atleast a year in the bottle. For me the wine felt closed, but balanced. There was a bit of heat for me at the beginning, but that dissipated. Black and blue berries are abound and the mid palate is the the most pleasing. I appreciate the acids, I made several taste tests include a Black Nicoise Olive and the wine was solid through and through. We regret pairing this big boy with Duck Ravioli and Mushroom risotto, because as we got deeper in the decanter, all that my wife and I wanted to do was eat a huge ribeye steak with this wine. This was also my first foray into Tokalon fruit as well. I look forward to more solid wines from YoDaddyYo. Congrats Mike. A solid first effort, I look forward to opening my second bottle in about 18 months.

CellarTracker Texas Offline; 5/21/2010-5/22/2010 (San Antonio): YoDaddyO’s creation. Nose of very ripe black fruit and blueberry. On the palate ripe blackberry and blueberry, vanilla, spicy oak. Finishes with sturdy tannins and a little heat. Seems a little out of balance right now, but has the right stuff to come around with short-term aging. 87 solid points. Excellent job YoDaddyO.

82% 2007 Tokalon Cabernet, 2% 2008 Tokalon Cabernet, 10% Petite Verdot, 6% Malbec. Garnet color in the glass, fairly clear throughout. Slightly closed nose at the moment giving way to notes of dark cherries, violets and plums. Flavors of black cherries, black berries, blueberries and plums. Medium to bright acidity, firm tannins, medium to full bodied. Drink now with some air or hold for a year before trying again. Good first effort.

Popped and poured with no decant. Drank over the course of about 2 hours. Color is an opaque red. The nose shows lots of blackberries and creme-de-cassis notes. On the palate the wine is well balanced with very nice, ripe blackberry and dark fruit flavors. Finish is medium length but the alcohol does show through just a touch. Tannins are fine grained but a little edgy. However, they give the wine good structure. I believe that it should do well with short term aging. 88-89 points

CT Offline IV--Hill Country Edition; 5/18/2012-5/19/2012 (Austin / Texas Hill Country / Castleman Ranch): Some great to kalon fruit. Smooth, yet a bit spicy. Somewhat sweet and full of blueberry and blackberry. Very integrated tannins and nice and refined. Still power, but with dignity and finesse. Great wine for sure. Worth much more than they charge for this.
