Very nice wine, perfectly drinkable now, smell of leather, slighlty herbal, ceder, cherries, firm wine, still some ripe tannines which give a nice balanced structure and backbone, amazing how vital this wine still is, chocolaty and plummy aftertaste...93 points

Markedly better than my last bottle, validating the bottle variation noted by others. I gave 'er several hours of air and she ate 'em up. Even at 12 years of age, this bad boy needs a decant.

Lengthy and monitored decant given. Starts to show best around the 4 hour mark. I wholeheartedly disagree that this wine is past it's prime as a few reviews that have suggested. Aromas show complexity with air time revealing the varietal make up of 40% Cab Sauv, and 20% each of Cab Franc, Merlot and. Petite Verdot. Currant, plum and cherry notes show with bramble, herbs, tobacco, leather, French pressed coffee, earth and old forest. The palate reveals this wine is still in its prime with vivid, juicy acidity, firm full tannins and density with flavors of slightly dried cherry, plum, currant and bramble berry with dried herbs, tobacco, coffee, old leather, and dried flowers notes. Full smooth texture and persistent through the finish.

Nice, with Bordeaux-like qualities; There is some bottle-to-bottle variation, and some will last longer than others. The finish lengthens with some air, and becomes more tannic and drying. The wine features mixed black fruits with some tobacco and oak. There is an indefinable bass note that one would expect in a Bordeaux, that seems to be missing in this one. Overall, though, I am glad to have bought some of these, and might buy more of they were available in this vintage.
The 2009 vintage of these is even more impressive.

Opened two bottles for a fondu dinner last night. The wine is average and it lacks enough acid/tannins to keep it fresh or just maybe my pallet is changing and I like my wines a bit more edgy with food. Or maybe the wine is at its end and needs to be consumed. It was OK just not exciting.
A good bargain for an aged Tuscan blend. Nice and very smooth. Probably just past its peak, but very enjoyable. Will drink the remaining bottles in the next year.

Drinking really nice right now. This was my last bottle and wish I had more. Probably has a couple more years in it, but not a lot more. Smooth tannins, slight but not overpowering tart cherry, tea notes. Very earthy tasting with a mild bit of spice to it. Very smooth right now even without any decanting.

This wine has clearly reached its peak and it needs to be consumed very soon. I almost think it is on the downhill at this point. Didn't need a decant to open up. Classic Bolgheri fruit with rustic charm and complexity of a good Bordeaux blend. Nice plum and cherry flavors with a little tobacco at the end. If you have some in the cellar don't wait and drink up!

As I have noted before, this is a heck of a deal for $25 from WTSO. Juicy, very full-bodied, with generous fine tannins and firm acidity. Excellent either with or without food. It's in a good window now, but it could go for another 10 years at least. Worth a bulk purchase.

Decanted and consumed over 6+ hours. Dark purple color. Not much on the nose besides some heat, maybe a trace of vanilla. Big, juicy dark fruits on the palate. Evokes blueberry pie filling while somehow not coming across as too overripe. Noticeable heat through the mid-palate and lingering into the dry, slightly tart, slightly chewy finish. Very good juice, if a bit intense. 91-92pts.

Surprisingly pleased with this bottle. Smooth tannins, relatively low acidity. Not showing a lot of fruit at first, but over time did show some blueberry flavors, but not too forward. Low alcohol. Some spiciness on the finish but very mild and nice. I can't see getting many more years out of this though.
On second tasting of same bottle the flavor had changed to be surprisingly more tannic and less fruit forward. Slightly tart and balsamic. Tasted more like a Nebbiello than a super tuscan, which led me to upgrade my score!

Subtle nose with a lot of Cabernet Sauvignon expression, honey, graphite, and currant. Fully loaded with graphite and leather up front. Dark, full-bodied. Structured and tannic. This has strong Cabernet Sauvignon personality. For all the strict Cali Cab enthusiasts, this is a great segue into Italian Cab-based blends.
So glad I purchased these bottles! First time trying an Italian wine. Beautiful aroma's, hickory, blueberries and something else that is awesome I can't put my finger on. First taste is deep chocolate and cherries. Finish is slightly dry with perfect tannis for me, almost a caramel flavor. Extremely happy with this PNP.

Decanted 2+ hours 40% Cab Sauv, 20% Merlot, 20% Cab Franc, 20% Petite Verdot. An exceptional QPR for a Bolgheri of this pedigree. Bold rich aromas right from the bottle, evolve with decant. Cocoa dusted blackberry, blueberry and cassis with notes of plum, vanilla, leather, tobacco, and coffee with hints of mint, spice and violets on the nose. On the palate this wine is rich and developed, though still showing its youthfulness. This wine is in its prime! Suave moderate tannins, balanced acidity and flavors of plum, cassis, blackberry, fig and wild blueberry with layered flavors of chocolate, tobacco, leather, savory herbs, violets, french pressed coffee and vanilla with a hint of mint and sandy earth. Long on the finish showing its pedigree.

Wonderful fruit forward and earthy nose. Very smooth yet with some tannins and acidity. Slight vanilla flavors on finish. Good example of what can be so good about Bolgheri Cab blends - a result with more fruitiness than Bordeaux but exhibiting more fruit and oak restraint than comparable Napa efforts. Still youthful and a decant is recommended.

Pretty indeed. In a typical year this is ~ 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 20% Petit Verdot. Wow what a pretty nose. Although I preferred this wine more than my wife, she drank it blind and nailed slightly aged Italian cab blend. Plenty of acidity as expected from a Bolgheri cab blend, this paired very well with a grass fed beef filet mignon, as the soft sexiness of the cab blend worked well with the melt in your mouth steak. An excellent food wine, and not too bad on its own.
