Deep ruby to deep garnet, stewed plum, black fig, allspice, bergamot, and clove on the nose, bright dark slightly stewed fruit on the nose with spice, black plum, bright acidity, and well integrated tannins, finished with raisin-like fruit, grape, dusty tannins, bright acidity and much more

Decanted 1 hour. For comparison, I'll note that the 2004 normalé is big, ripe, and (too) alcoholic. This is cut from the same mold but has a bit more restraint. Balsamico, cherry reduction, milk chocolate, but not a lot of complexity or finesse, with strong, fine, drying tannins on finish. Actually, it's extremely boring. I don't have confidence that it will improve much. 97 points from Suckling? Come on. Drink now-2018.

Echo flavors of others with emphasis on the sweet and sour cherry. Very complex nose of the cherry, flowers, and herbs. Hint of licorice on the nose really jumps out on the first taste after the cherries subside. Delectable in every respect and phase. Seamless, smooth transitions through the entire experience. When the finish glides in, you can't help but thinking about all the flavors you've experienced. A wow wine.

to me, this wine is as close to perfection as it can get. Brooding nose, dark, opulent fruit, worn oak, sage, light earth, all balanced perfectly with some acid and cashmere allowing the taste to last minutes. Bravo. Bravo.

Really stunning, full bodied and extremely smooth - plum and chocolate mixed with licorice - not heavy at all.

Excellent Brunello drinking at its apex. Slightly modern style compared to the Il Poggione Riserva 2006. Both were excellent.

Boring, dull, too alcoholic, no sense of place. See previous note.
