Very open with inviting rose pedals on the nose and rosewater on the palate. A wine that is good now and should be even better in 5 years time but no crime in pulling a cork.

Soft, good ripeness albeit a 2008 but really a soft , gentle and elegant wine. Red fruited and less of that smoky intense we expected from a Gevrey Grand Cru, light spice, silky tannin and drinks very nicely now. Not sure it can ever justify ts price but that been said very few can in Burgundy these days. 91-92

Very pretty wine, a light red with slight bricking. Nice nose, lovely palate with good balance and bright fruit with savory notes. Soft tannins. Clean finish, medium length. Still on the upswing I think, but well worth a visit right now.

Pnp, medium ruby with an orange hue. Airy nose of bright red fruits, followed by oak. Plenty of acidity on palate, and oak spice, medium concentration, this is more about finesse then power. Hawthorn noted throughout, slightly disappointed.

Pnp, bright red color yielding red currant/hawthorn aroma and hint of spice. Forward oak on palate but there is plenty of fruit acidity and sweetness to divert attention that made this wine very approachable now, tannin is soft and overall very seductive.

HDH auction tasting at Tru; 6/24/2016-6/25/2016 (Chicago, IL): Heartbreakingly lovely. This is the kind of experience that will leave you like Gatsby standing on the pier staring at the green light. Super elegant and racy, with just amazingly pretty red fruit. I've worried a bit about the longevity of the 2008s because of the austerity, but this will almost certainly be an exception. So perfumed and bright, but there's great concentration here too. A touch short on the finish, but I'm giving a flyer on that given how amazing the nose and attack are.

this stood apart (in the context of infanticide) from most of my burgundy stock, rousseau is the best... this had really nice cherry, raspberry fruit alongside something savory and/or spicy, could taste the oak treatment but frankly more subtle than i might have expected, i'm sure great wine making is part of the reason this wine is great already but it also has to have something to do with the grapes, this is good to great now and should be 93-95 pts in ten to twelve years, great mouthfeel, lithe and elegant notwithstanding the obvious power of the material

A beauty. Surprisingly open-knit for an 08, with lovely floral aromatics. Very lively palate of red fruits with sneaky depth and concentration. Will go the distance but is very nice now.

Another outstanding bottle. The spice on the nose was more pronounced than the two in 2012. Saved some for day 2, and it held up reasonably well. But was definitely better on day 1.

Chinese Dinner in L.A. (Elite Chinese Restaurant - Los Angeles, CA): Probably spent about an hour in the decanter. Lovely aromatics, this is all class. Incredible floral notes, red berries, and earthy notes. Obviously this is a young wine, but it already shows incredible potential with its balance, pure fruit and acidity. The complete package.

Bit oaky at first, with whiffs of oriental spice, sandalwood and tree bark. Then come hints of animal - like a sweaty horseback. Opens up to bright ripe raspberry and red cherry aromas, assisted by liquorice and crushed rocks. Tastewise relatively light-bodied and slender with bright fresh acidity, silky smooth mouthfeel, fine spicy tannins and nicely lingering pastille-like flavours of red fruit and rocks. Really elegant, well balanced and enjoyable already - also very transparent, pure and not too oaky - yet appears to have more layers to unlock in a few years time.

Drank over 4 hours. Light in color, however the nose is dense red and black fruit with come coffee and caramel notes as well as lots of spice. The palate matches the nose, but no caramel and more more sweet red fruit with some metallic notes. Nice depth and grip with a long and relatively tannic finish. Very good, needs some time to round out.

Red and blue fruit. I think a bit young to drink. Its transparent and fine which I like. I am a big fan of 08 (and 10) so I like the style a lot but I am thinking that I actually want a bit more in this wine.

Des notes de fruits rouges mais avec une bouche légèrement mince comparé le bonnes mares de Bruno Clair du même millésime. 92 sur 100.
