my lone bottle...was a gift a few years back. Popped, let air 30 mins in the glass....approachable velvet lush cherry/blueberry integrated fruit...no tannins to speak of....one dimensional and easy to pair with a filet. concentrated deep purple. Don't find the need to buy more of this...

Still holding well. Needs a little decanting to soften tannins and bring out the dirty cherry, cedar, tobacco, little bit of spice and light hint of chocolate mint

This took an hour or more to show fully. Concentrated, nice tannins, lovely black fruit, some cedar and steely minerality. This was really poised and impressive, with serious backbone.

Rich blackberry nose. Fruit forward blackberry and plum on the palate. Still good structure with medium-high tannin and high acidity. mid-palate of mostly graphite with a touch of tobacco. medium length dark chocolate finish. Still plenty left... I believe this is your drinking window now, but this could last another 5 years, if you enjoy a little less fruit and softer tannin. Great Napa Cab with a 10-15 year drinking window. Enjoy!

inky red; fruit forward -- hints of cherries, plums, prunes, apricots; tannin a little out of balance (strong); slight effervescence -- maybe aged too long; finish is decent

consistent with other Pina cabs although not my favorite. This is smooth, rich, long, but still tannic. I think it has room to improve and several more years. Pepper on the finish. Pina makes great cabs, all 100% cab.

much better this go around than last time... green as a gourd, but great nose and excellent potential... time will tell if this is overpriced or not, but solid cab nonetheless

Nice aromatics that drifted across the room while it sat with one glass poured and bottle open for an hour than poured thru vinturi. Aromatics of dark berries, sweet flowers and secondary brown sugar and baking spices. …Very nice and changes in the glass (became slightly musky and a little herbal) . Palate not as sweet (dark fruits dominate) as the aromatics. Not overly viscous (juicy and not overly drying). Finishes for over 30 seconds ending in a nice black licorice taste. Tannins are extremely nice and smooth and well integrated. Was talked into this by Total Wine associate. Not a rebuy at $79. Boy this would be stellar at $49….. but will stick with Keenan cab ($40) and Mondavi Oakville ($35) for my step up drinkers. If I had more I would wait another year to see how the aromatics (musky and herbal) resolve themselves. Plenty of structure and tannins to hold for 5+ more years.

I think I remembered drinking this one a few months ago and it was not as well received. Of course, that one was popped and poured when enjoyed out of my boss' cellar. This wine was very elegant. It is Napa Floor fruit, concentrated, ripe blackberry on the nose with a hint of mocha and rose petal. On the palate is an inky full bodied wine that is all about the blackberry and creme de cassis off the bat with a very soft mouthfeel. The mid-palate is all ripe blackberry, some dark chocolate and fig, and this is where the alcohol starts to kick in but is not obnoxious. There is even a slight bit of an earthy nose that shows here. Well integrated finish. At first there didn't seem to be much tannin but as the wine opened up, some cedar on the finish showed up. 30-45 second finish that was very enjoyable. This bottle showed well tonight. Drink now with about 30-45 minutes of decanting, or hold for about 6-7 years.

A nice wine by Pina. This wine had kind of a strange front from the pop and pour glass and a half that was served to me. Rating would probably be higher with adequate decanting. Jumping straight to what I smelled in the glass, which is a Napa floor Cab. Reportedly 100 percent cab, the nose is all black cherry, even a hint of vanilla sweetness with deep inspiration. Smells a little brambly. The initial taste is deep, dark, light side of full bodied. A little glycerine. Very smooth, mostly blackberry and mocha front, with a clay type of fine dirty grit showing up in the middle. Finished with a dark blackberry and chocolate, a little leather, mildly tannic. Not an oak barrel bomb on the finish and not overly fruity in the front. Balanced wine. Tastes like there is a bit of Merlot here, maybe even a touch of Syrah and a touch of Cab Franc but promises 100 percent Cab from D'Adamo vineyard. On Silverado Trl a litlte north of Oakville crossing. I guess not technically Oakville AVA, closest neighbors are Oakville Farms, Miner Family, Rudd, Dalla Valle and Gargiulo. Nice wine. Drink now or hold 5-6 years.

Great bottle, huge wine with absolute purity and finesse. Like the old Cakebread single vineyard or 05-07 special select from caymus. Age this or drink for the gracefull beast that it is.

Had a great nose of oak and fruit -- very inviting. The palate initially had great fruit, firm tannins, significant acidity, and a finish that promised potential greatness. The more time open, however, the sharper the edges became. The acidity became overbearing, the tannins fierce, and the fruit stewed. There was a noticeable heat also. Probably needs a few years in the cellar. Wouldn't give up on this wine yet.

I picked this up off a recommendation from the guys at backroom wines. I agree with the other reviews regarding tastes of blueberries tobacco and syrup. I am giving this 92 points as I imagine I'd you like a wine with spice and some heat this is a very solid wine. I myself prefer a wine more in line with a Shafer One Point Five for the same price with more of a velvet feel in the mouth and less spice.

Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of tobacco, currants, plums and black cherries. Flavors of plums, currants, cherries and berries. Medium acidity, medium to firm tannins, medium to full bodied. Drink now with about an hour of air time or hold into the 2-6 year range plus or minus.

Great cab, a little syrupy, nice right out of the bottle, no decant. Long, long finish just as intense as the upfront taste. Cherries , cedar and little heat with dark fruit in between. A little more structured than the 2006, but loses some of it's fruit when compared to 2006.
