Quite surprisingly, this was much more Medoc-like than St. Emilion-like. Lotys of tannins, bitter, unresolved. On it's own, wasn't bad, but with food....Had with pizza, and clashed completely - probably due to inherent sweetness of the sauce. Very disappointing.

Day 1: coravin. Did not decant or air out. Color was dark for its age. Aromas of rasberry pastry is the best I can put it. Palate of dark fruit, gentle smooth oak that isnt masking too much of the fruit. Enough acid and structure to help this age much longer. I would not have guessed 2009. Good wine as of now.
9th day: this is a good wine but final verdict is that it is just too young. I can see it getting better though. Unfortunately, this is my only bottle so I wont know how it ages.

Really a lot of fun for the price. Not very complex by Bordeaux standards, but showing desirable tertiary character and still very much alive. Great wine to have on hand for a midweek meal.

In a nice spot. Middle of the road style-wise, it seems, with plenty of fruit but also plenty of classic Bordeaux tobacco and leaf notes. Starting to get some secondary characteristics. Decent but not screaming value at $25.

Nice mix of Merlot and Cab - definitely get the cocoa powder and cassis. This is a nice, good value Right Bank - but brings nothing special to the table. Satisfying - yet unremarkable. Has structure for another year or two at this plateau. 89-90

I dig it. Classic with some really nice ripe fruit, cassis out of the gates, cedar, scrub brush, forest floor, and a bit wild; after some air I got touches of dark bitter chocolate. A nice wine with a grilled steak.
A great wine? No. For one thing, I think the fine tannins, which are still a touch drying, will not entirely resolve. But very good to excellent and a really nice buy at $25. Glad to have a few more. I don't see too much more development from here, so should look to drink this in the next few years.

Better bottle than the last one (which was heat damaged) but not very interesting. Cherry and black currant, fair amount of oak, really tannic finish at the 3 or 4 hour mark. Meh -
Coravin pour. A lot of sediment. This wasn’t overly ripe or roasted as one might worry for the bottling. A simple, pleasant but not too exciting rendition.
It softened and mellowed with some air when pulling the cork. Again, quite pleasant, bumping up a point. Don’t hold this wine, it’s at peak now and won’t improve unless your only in it for tertiary stuff

This still shows a good amount of oak. The fruit is still forward as well. It's not out of control in a overly modern way. But it's also not very traditional. At the price point it's pretty good. Many Napa wines drink very similar to this and cost a lot more. A night later this had changed a lot, drinking more traditionally or at least more maturely. For folks who like bigger wines this is probably where you need to drink up. It's probably ready to start maturing with the fruit laying down a bit. If you want some secondary action lay off for 5+ years. It's not going anywhere soon. Lots in the tank.

A mere 53% merlot (27 % cab Franc, and 20 % cab sauvignon); the resounding third label of Chateau Lassegue ensures it see little to no new oak, no Rolland, and only 13.5% abv. Still very primary. A nice nose of canned cherry pie filling. It still has some unresolved tannins, nice acid, but is thin on fruit, filling, mid-palate, or finish to really go after those tertiary notes. Not worth the $25 bones I paid, in my humble opinion.

Decanted one hour prioir to serving. Nice cocoa and oak notes on the nose. Very spicy black currant fruit. enough moca to let you know that this is merlot driven, but plenty of structure and cassis from the Cab Sauv. Good, modesty tannic finish. Definitely can age 3-5 years. 90+

A little early to be drinking, although with decanting it can still open up. Somewhat closed and with that, a little spicy. After several hours, however, it mellowed nicely with a subtle bramble and a dark red berry (really dark). Some pepper on the back end as well, showing a bit of Cabernet character. Nice balance and well integrated. Not massive, but strong and refined.

Lets of charred wood notes. I suspect the wood influence is actually fairly strong with this one. The fruit was fresh and vibrant though not giving off a lot of classic Bordeaux notes. It's certainly carrying it's age quite well. That wood stuffed a lot of tannin in here which likely helps keep it going easily. This is fine. Especially for the money at it's age but it's not likely to make you take notice. Solid midweek pour. no rush to drink.

Really nice and silky smooth right now while still coming across as young and fresh. Planning to try a bottle each year over the next few years to see how it progresses though its consensus drinking window.

Very dark red full wine. A nose and taste full of cherry/red fruits balanced with mineral earthiness. A wine with complexity and character. A bit tart/acidic on the finish.

My first bottle, decanted about 30 minutes. This wine at least tasted like bordeaux, just not a whole lot going on. It went well with top sirloin.

I think the general consensus below is spot on -- this is a good, pleasant Bordeaux, but nothing special. At $25, okay, but nothing more, value.
