0609/1756. Be patient, give it time, and one will be rewarded with the mind-blowing improvement. Textbook amazing mature grand cru with the RSV elegance: prune, plum, dried fruit, forest, wood, tea, geranium, violet, cinnamon, game, olive, roasted meat, sourdough, truffle, dill, nuts, cigar and dense Vosne spice. Integrity of the original juice is just impeccable—almost protected in sous vide or confit—as the whole pact slides above the palate, slowly marching towards a deeply backward, heartily spicy and precisely textured palate. The weightless finish is uniformly juicy, cloudy but complete. Admirable velvety continuity in a deeply intellectual wine. 98

Potentially slightly corked, but in any event not showing well. Wood on the nose, light licorice but pervasive but faint taint. Dry palate, and dry finish. Impossible to render a verdict

Wow. This was drinking perfectly last night. Stood up to, or surpassed a '96 Leroy Richebourg served alongside. Full flavor of both black and red fruits, with plenty of earth and oak, a peppery underside and a great finish. Fantastic for the finish and (if the word can be used at this price point) an actual value in the pantheon of the very best burgundies. A surprise for this vintage. Drink right now, or over the next few years and you'll be greatly rewarded.

Huge smoky/sappy lift to the aroma. It has ripe and dense raspberry and cherry fruits. It is full, intense and luscious in the mouth with powerful red and black fruit flavours cut with a little flora. It has just a hint of 97 sweet and sour about it finishing with a tart snap.

Very pretty nose with somewhat sour cherry and cranberry in the forefront with lots of brown baking spice that kept getting more and more open as the wine got air. Definitely cinnamon with a bit of nutmeg and clove as well. The same red fruits on the palate with great spice throughout and on the long finish. Lots of energy and great acidity. Absolutely delicious.

Romanee St.-Vivant Dinner (Sepia - Chicago IL): Gorgeous nose with that classic perfumed Leroy aromatics we would see throughout this flight. Great red berry, acidity, hints of integrated oak and good nice baking spice on the finish. Flavors were good, but the nose was amazing.

Romanee St. Vivant Dinner at Sepia (Chicago IL): Pretty red fruits with very elegant spice notes of clove and nutmeg. A lengthy finish with refreshing acidity. Showing very nicely, but got lost in a flight with four other RSV's.

Had this wine along with the DRC's RSV 97, same application, same year. Leroy's RSV boost dense (Leroy's cloudy) ruby color which is very usual for leroy. The wine keep changing in a good way all the time. Fresh strawberry, spices, black pepper. Master of complexity. Full-bodied wine with lush and sexy in the same time.

Luscious, opulent fruit that is accessible from the first moment the wine is poured. Classic Vosne spice on the nose. Class, balance, length -- it's all there. Gimme gimme gimme. A-

Zachys La Paulee "Warm-up" Dinner (Lafayette - New York NY): Small glass, brief note. Ripe red fruit with good concentration. Stems are quite pronounced here. Still oaky. Overall very good.

Zachys La Paulee "Warm-up" Dinner (Boulevard - San Francisco CA): Beautiful underlying fruit, but slightly corked. So sad because I was excited to taste this alongside my bottle of DRC 97 RSV.
