0609/1756. Be patient, give it time, and one will be rewarded with the mind-blowing improvement. Textbook amazing mature grand cru with the RSV elegance: prune, plum, dried fruit, forest, wood, tea, geranium, violet, cinnamon, game, olive, roasted meat, sourdough, truffle, dill, nuts, cigar and dense Vosne spice. Integrity of the original juice is just impeccable—almost protected in sous vide or confit—as the whole pact slides above the palate, slowly marching towards a deeply backward, heartily spicy and precisely textured palate. The weightless finish is uniformly juicy, cloudy but complete. Admirable velvety continuity in a deeply intellectual wine. 98

Potentially slightly corked, but in any event not showing well. Wood on the nose, light licorice but pervasive but faint taint. Dry palate, and dry finish. Impossible to render a verdict

Zachys La Paulee "Warm-up" Dinner (Lafayette - New York NY): Small glass, brief note. Ripe red fruit with good concentration. Stems are quite pronounced here. Still oaky. Overall very good.

Zachys La Paulee "Warm-up" Dinner (Boulevard - San Francisco CA): Beautiful underlying fruit, but slightly corked. So sad because I was excited to taste this alongside my bottle of DRC 97 RSV.

Great nose. Good fruit with long finish. Surprising underdog of the night.
