Alluring aromas of berries and flowers, good bojo typicality with silky texture, bright acidity and a sweet finish. Unfortunately the wine was overpowered by an assertively herbal lamb stew.

Transparent ruby. Juicy bubblegum nose with some herbs, anise, bark and earth. Palate w red cherries, raspberries, earth, bark and some anise above the fruit. Nice long finish. Great acidity. Ripe fruit but not overdone. Nice.

Fresh and charming on the palate, with bright cherry flavors and solid minerality to bolster the fruit. Drink in the near term, I can't see it getting better.

Dark purple-red color. Subdued nose; bit of sweet cherry. Very smooth, good mouthfeel. Bitter cherry, red fruit, tangy, bright, good food wine. Smooth finish

I usually write tasting notes only on wines taken from my cellar: however, this was so delicious, I didn't even mind grossly overpaying 3x retail at local Philly bistro and feel compelled to write this note. Nice cherry red. Lovely nose of cherry, licorice and earth. Really fine on the palate with fine finish and crackling acidity. Loads of sweet cherrry fruit with added licorice and minerality. Have some of Chermette's 09 Beaujolais Crus in my cellar, but if this basic bottling is an example of this vintage, I am in for a real treat. Would love to track some of this down while my Crus get another year or two of bottle age.

This bottle was drinking very, very well. Opened up well, but felt room temp was a bit too warm, so I popped this in the fridge for about a half an hour and went from there, and this was just lovely, straightforward, berry-fruited beaujolais with a good dash of chalky mineral and a very plush texture. I really enjoyed where this was at and will probably go back for more.

Ruby colored. Nose of raspberries/cherry. Strongly fruit forward though dry with a non-puckering tartness and light bodied. Moderate acidity and very fine tannins. Perfect with Christmas dinner.

Full cherry/berry aroma. Pure fruit driven palate, supported by firm acid and a hint of minerality. Cherry flavors dominate the sweet/salty finish.
The hits just keep on coming in '09 Beaujolais. I don't think I've had a bad one yet, and this is another outstanding effort. A bit lighter on its feet than some others I've had, this one is more Ali than Frazier. Another '09 I'm going to have to stock up on, I'll be drowning in Beaujolais before I'm done

good. simple quaffer, with grape, sour cherry, and just a touch of tannin. this would be a most excellent thanksgiving wine, in fact...may have to stock up.

2009 Beaujolais (Dino, Washington DC): This is Chermette's base level cuvee. It definitely stood out from the rest of the lineup as the most simple, basic, underwhelming effort of the night. Tons of red candy on the nose. I didn't like this one bit. Very simple, lots of sugar.

Tasty. Lots going on up front but it fades. Finish very short. Not adding.

The Wines of Domaine du Vissoux/Pierre-Marie Chermette (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): what a great way to start the tasting. vibrant nose of smoke and licorice. the palate is fresh, medium-bodied, with sharp acid. complex flavors of cherry, coffee grinds and cocoa powder.

Very primary, grapey fruit, but a lovely silky texture, fullness in the middle is quite nice. Needs some time I think.

This was a very interesting wine- salty, minerality and fruit mixture. Made me think. Worth trying just for the discussion that can ensue.
