By the bottle at Noreetuh in NYC. Decanted for about an hour. Nose is very ripe, cherries and violets and clay. Palate is really great; savory beef notes, hit of olive brine, blueberries and raspberries, long crisp finish. Great stuff, but maybe a bit more ripe and fruity than I have found in other vintages and enjoyed slightly more.

Very nutty, toasted sesame, rich and vinyl-y, fresh squeezed ginger, really ripe apricots, a vaguely stone fruit-pit bitterness, somewhat boozy but not out of control. Huge body but enough acidity to balance it. Short finish but it works. Good on its own but borderline amazing paired with a seared tuna steak on top of charred veggies and a mild curry sauce.

Right out of the bottle I thought it was nice, sweet and dark with a rustic edge that brought it some interest. But as it sat in the bottle it got spritzier somehow and also sweeter, almost reminding me of a Dr. Pepper at one point. Bryn said she didn’t like the spritz so I splashed it into a decanter but even so it took forever for that spritz to blow off. Finally after like 2 hours in the decanter it was in a good spot; lots of black cherry, licorice, wet clay, savory herbs. Great acidity and lift with medium body. I wanted the tannins to be just a touch more present but it somehow maintains a nice balance. Not sure if I would buy again for the $50 I paid for it but it was interesting and enjoyable.
