what a bottle! The color was dark, almost black. the bottle still in the neck. the cork was fully saturated. Chateaux and vintage perfectly on the cork. The nose was incredible. It started slow (in hindsight should have been decanted) but then, one highlight after the other. sweetness paired with dark chocolate, dark berries, cigar, leather. on the palate - 100 points1 in line with Cheval Blanc 1945 and 1949, L'eglise Clinet 1955 and a Vega Secilia 1967 - just perfect!! All the aromas from the nose, plus eternal sweetness, never ending on the palate (15 min plus) charming and lingering _ chocolate, cigar, blackcurrant, but also bitter almond (like in a Vogelbeer Schnapps) never dominating but always present.whatever people say, the perfect Claret by any means of imagination. on its peak - now and for another decade. if you find a bottle, let me know or go and get it

I bought 2 bottles at an auction for little money out of curiosity. What a great buy. The color is still dark with a brown rim. The nose is a mixture between old Claret and Burgundy. Mature Cabernet notes, combined with earthy notes of the Burgundy - sweetness as well? It tastes also like a mature Bordeaux. The wines is still powerful with noticeable tannins but enough flavors to balance them. A great experience of a mature Italian red. Worth every drop. Even 5 hours after opening, the wine still holds up.

I liked the nose with citrus, lemon, grapefruit scents. Dry, with noticeable acidity the champagne is medium bodied with butterscotch hints on the palate. I would assume in a couple of years this champagne will merits a higher rating.
