I usually prefer the reds from Sandlands, but still buy the Chenins every time.. that being said, this is probably my favorite chenin blanc that I've had from this label. A bit more orange and papaya intrigue going on in the background, in addition to typical lanolin and hay qualities. Might hold my other one for a few years just to see where it goes.

50% Trebbiano Romagnolo, 50% Malvasia di Candia from ungrafted vines in the sandy soils of Bosco Eliceo in Emilia-Romagna. Made using the cal fondo method.
Pours a slightly clouded resinous gold color. Nose is perfumey with ripe apricots framed by briny sea breeze. On the palate this is soft with gentle fizz, and flavors of bruised orchard fruit and kaffir lime. Finishes quite dry. Would've liked a bit more acidity personally, but interesting nonetheless.

Almost totally clear in appearance. Nose of blueberry compote and white flowers. The palate shows lavender, ripe pear, caramelized lemon, finishing nice and dry. A very soft, light wine but certainly not lacking in flavor. A great summer porch pounder.
