  • 2014 Beaulieu Vineyard Chardonnay Coastal Estates

Sat in Fridge for a week. Took out and left at room temp unopened for 30 min
Random bottle i got for free

    Appearance:

    Lemon Gold, Clear

Semi quick, dense legs (sweet, high EtOH)

    Nose:

High intensity fruit bomb on the notes
    Green fruit dominant.
    Slight hint of citrus

    Palate:

    Bold
Surprising full bodied. Had some weight to it.
    SemiDry
    Meidum+ Alcohol
    Medium Acidity
    Medium + intensity
    Full oak. Bitter

    Finish:

    High intensity, Long finish

    Conclusion:

    82

On the nose, its full fruit bomb. On the palate, it has no balanced structure. everything about it is everywhere and nothing melds together. The biggest aspect of it is the oak influence is very strongly dominant. There is no trace of the fruit at all.

Although the finish is long, it just there to torture you through its long bitter finish.

    Medium+ body
    Medium+ intensity
    Classic Cab Herbaceous notes dominates
    Dark fruits

    Finish:

    Dry, Medium intensity, medium+ length
    Alcohol is smooth
Strong high tannins remain and coats the mouth

    Conclusion:

    94 points

On the nose, its bold from the start. Its clear from the nose that this is a Cab dominant blend, with dark fruits, and the herbaceous/vegetal undertones coming through. Once i picked it up, its the dominant aroma for me.
On the palate and finish, the tannins are strong and grips the inside of the mouth. The finish is medium/long, dry, and tanninc.
Still a bit young, and has alot of room to age.
