Asperg Wine Syndrome Tasting Group: Germany and Oregon (Asperg): Tasted blind hard to detect as a Pinot Gris (Grauburgunder). Concentrated, lots of extract, but also not super concentrated. Due to the extremely high amount of alcohol of 17% abv it was almost unbearably hot on the palate. This one time experiment of creating a Beerenauslese TROCKEN has gone terribly wrong in my opinion. I guess it will not improve over time, because the alcohol will not go away, though it is almost immortal… Hard to rate, agree with M_Arcon around 82-83 pts + 2 for courage of the attempt…

Asperg Wine Syndrome Tasting Group: From southern Germany to Oregon Pinot (Private Location): The first thing I thought when I saw the description on the label was: How the hell could you’ve make a BA trocken!? Nevertheless I tried this miracle of oenological art but it was completely overpowered by the incredible high alcohol (16 I think, please correct me here if I’m wrong Dirk) which really burns on the palate. Super high extract. Definitely not my cup of tea.
