A praiseworthy and interesting effort to explore the potential in California for the Picpoul grape from the Rhone, that is unlikely to win over many hearts. Yellow color with butterscotch pudding aromas and some alcoholic whiffs. Enters the mouth with a good acid bite, distinctive ginger taste, fair concentration, and moderately rich texture. But what most holds the wine back is the failure to ever become delicious.

Pale, golden with age, this wine at this time has a pleasantly mellow character on the nose that's somehow more satisfying than the taste. On the palate (mine, at least) it's barely there, while the nose speaks gently, but assertively, of age minerals citrus, and casks

Very Tasty. Lemon and Pineapple. Like a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. 90/91.

Very nice white Rhone from TC.
Label say "lip stinger" due to higher acidity. Makes this wine more enjoyable and interesting, lively.
