Nice but tannic nose. Raspberry and tobacco scents. Allowed to breath for 30 minutes and probably needed another hour. Great tannins which should allow another 10 years of cellaring. Raspberries continues with bright cherry overtones. Love it!!!

Decanted about an hour before dinner. Initially i got a hint of violets upon opening the bottle, but that seems to have died 10 minutes into the first glass.
It’s pretty acidic and quite tanic. Should go well with a fatty steak.
We are having this with baseball rib eyes and a grilled Cesar salad. No notes after dinner but the bottle was gone, and we enjoyed it very much.

Initial impressions: Tight, slightly fruity with dark berry aromas backed up with faint suggestions of nutty oak. Quite floral with hints of white pepper and licorice adding detail to the core of dark, candied, berry fruit. Lithe on entry, gracefully in the mouth with dusty, fine grained tannins and decent acidity, but not a lot of depth on the palate. This feels like it's shutting down already. Decent length, tart red berry fruit, refreshing with some peach skin on the finale. Well balanced fine and gentle with an emerging menthol note running from front to back. Texturally it is lacy and silky.
