This note reflects a tiny and extraordinarily generous, ~1-ounce pour shared by an anonymous nearby diner on what became a very memorable night for me as a result. Easily the oldest table wine I have tasted, the nose was absolutely alive with primary fruit, with kirsch being the closest descriptor I can conjure up. There were also white pepper and gentle mint aromatics. The palate was more subdued but undeniably tremendous, as the tertiary flavors blended seamlessly. What a treasure, and what a privilege.
