  • Rudy color with a rust edge. Saddle leather, big Bordeaux nose that settles as the wine opens up, red currant, tar, tobacco and damp earth. Needs time to open, but the bottle seems a bit off - planning to try another soon and compare.

p.s. golapkis with pierogis and salad

  • Lush, deep garnet color, nose of black fruit and licorice. Benefitted greatly from decanting and opened more fully through the evening. Black currant, anise, briar, and dried mint. Long elegant finish.

  • Opened for 4 hours slow ox, then had first glass which was closed. Then had about half the bottle over the next two hours. Fairly monolithic. The second half was decanted at the 6th hour which was prior to serving dinner which was dry aged côte de bœuf. Drank from Zalto universal. Overall, outstanding but so young still. I personally think that an extra 5 to 10 years would benefit massively. It had layers of complexity and the tannins have softened but the fruit is still primary. Very long finish.

  • Great Wine ! Bought a few bottles in one my trips to Bordeaux and kept it in my wine cellar. It developed amazingly. Definitely needs like min 1-2 hours of decanting before you drink it but what an enjoyment in the glass afterwards.
Perfect match for our Xmas dinner tonight and I also think it easily has a min of at least 5 more years of a drinking window.

  • Nose a little green but otherwise a tight nose, not giving too much. Palate is dry and still quite tannic, pencil shavings - actually puckering and quite a burn from the alcohol. OK with food, not so enjoyable on its own.

(Pichon Lalande) This was tight but gorgeous. Classic PL nose of spice, green acorn, plum, cassis and tar. Some oak too but very well integrated. Long finish and great elegance. Young but still pretty expressive. Very promising. Check back in five years.
