Gold. Citrus and light hazlenut. Tons of citrus! Mostly lemon, some grapefruit. Tropical fruits. Bit of macademia and white mushroom. Very much alive. Good acidity, quite long.

Mid gold. Citrus and light hazlenut. Tons of citrus! Mostly lemon, some grapefruit. Full, almost waxy texture. Bit of nut and white mushroom. Very much alive. Good acidity, quite long. Very impressive still and excellent value.

thankfully this bottle had survived and whilst certainly mature it displayed a nice elegant balance with that almost beeswax aspect that I find in some SA Chardonnay such as Hamilton Russell or Meerlust. Lovely wine that drank perfectly with chicken in a cream and mushroom sauce.

I didn't mark "flawed" but I'm not sure I shouldn't. This one was pretty heavily oxidized. Too bad because you could still feel the overall structure of the wine and the significant acidity was still there. A ghost of what used to be. The fruit was gone replaced with a sherry/oak center. Bummer.
