All around beautiful. Medium body, wonderful balance, fruit and complexity. Got better as the evening progressed. Long life ahead but showing nice secondary and tertiary flavors. Robe is still purple.

Best bottle (Restaurant Brunnenstube, Beinstein): Tasted blind. Clear, deep ruby color. We used the wrong stemware and switch to bigger, Burgundy glasses later. The wine highly benefitted from that move. Beautiful Burgundy nose with fine red fruit, fine herbs, some oak. Dense, fresh and youthful. On the palate wonderful acidity. 13,5% abv. Lots of cherry and herbs. Wonderful texture, tension and balance. Very long! Drinks nicely now, but IMHO is still too young with an upscale potential for at least 5+ years. Anyway, a beautiful experience after we have chosen the right stemware. 94+

This was exceptional tonight with lots of rich, penetrating dark red fruit, deep, earthy, sous bois undertones, perhaps the suggestion of smoky coffee and some dusty tannins on the long finish. This a big burgundy with a fairly sauvage mouthfeel. All in all, quite the treat and just barely coming into its own. I suspect this has quite a long life ahead of it.

Great nose. Very fruit forward. Some savory. Extracted. Not green. Ripe. Structure present. Served by TL

2009 Burgundy Dinner with Robert Panzer (Boka - Chicago IL): Open 5 hours before serving. Lush and intense black fruit aromas with a good floral component. Big, dense black fruit on palate with lots of supporting structure.
