  Medium(+) amber-golden, vibrant and luscious. Lively, thick @14% abv. Nose of honeyed fruit, honeysuckle, floral, lemon, some oxidative notes (not sherry), almonds. Dry, medium acidity, high alcohol and full body. Titillating palate of ripe peach, apple, sweet spices, pineapple, marzipan, lemon pith and sherry notes
  Massive structure, unctuous texture, long, long finish Huge, infinitely layered and complex. Superb!
  In the drinking window, at risk of leaving it in a few years.

  Easter 2022 Dinner for Madelene, Ken and Moss (Wanaka Wedge House, Queensberry, Central Otago, New Zealand): Drinking beautifully tonight, and a stunning match with the Charlie Trotter recipe for prawns with a turmeric-fennel emulsion. Classic Beaucastel blanc, with the Roussanne manifesting as a broad, low acid, and weighty wine with floral notes, and ripe peach and nectarine notes. Still at its peak of maturity, with plenty of vibrancy (considering its character).

  Beau nez mielleux, zeste de citron, salin, poires, herbes fraiches, avec le temps le fruit de complexifie
  Toucher l’acide qui fait saliver mais le sucre le balance bien, aucune lourdeur, beau gras, poire, miel et verdure
  Finale acidulée, fruitée, un brin d’amertume rien de dérangeant
  Super vin, Belle balance et super avec de la bouffe

  Robe dorée verdâtre. Vin sur des arômes cire, beurre, minéral et citron. Ne pas boire trop frais. J’ai trouvé que ça manquait un peu de corps, trop vieux ? Beau vin, mais je m’attendais a plu.

  A blend of 80% Roussanne, 15% Grenache Blanc and 5% other varieties, 14% ABV. Medium straw yellow with a pale golden touch; wonderfully open and expressive nose, honey and elderflower, spices and minerals, butter and apple, ripe lemon; broad and concentrated palate, lots of extract balanced by firm but ripe acidity, floral lift, warmth and gentle grip from the wood; excellent resonance and length. Completely ready but with time in hand. A star performance. At Rijks Wine Bar, Amsterdam, NL.
