Thursday night pop and pour, because it’s almost Friday. From half bottle this is young, but showing an alluring perfume and a deep core of strength that signals a long period of evolution. Smells like a garden in springtime, and has teeth like a late March cold snap. The juxtaposition is actually what I love about NSG, and keeps me going back for more, even when I know the wines aren’t ready. I know there will be a frost, but I want to escape the winter of being bundled up, and feel the sun warming the back of my neck, despite the chill of the breeze.

Just starting to come around now. Has the black raspberry and forest floor I expect from this part of NSG. Is of medium plus body and carries the fruit well through the finish. It is a really nice village single vineyard a is a great buy, but is less silky than the 1er cru wines by good producers.

Deep ruby. Anise tones. Medium to full bodied, quite chewy, powerful impression with dense black fruit and strong acidity. Nice Nuits soil finish. Very youthful and unevolved-it would be premature to start opening these, but lots of concentration here.

I enjoyed this. Fruit is darker in tone. Firm acidity, soft tannin, and light soil notes.

The Wines of Nuits St. Georges (Bistro 7 (7 N. 3rd St., Philadelphia)): More lush than '09. Better concentration. Darker fruits.
