Dark fruit (cassis, blackberry), cedar, spice, tobacco, slight dark chocolate, good acidity. Lingering finish. Really open. Really enjoyable. Popped and poured. Opened an hour before drinking.

Clear and medium garnet in color. Clean nose with medium plus intensity. Notes of blackcurrant, bramble, cassis, cedar and ash tray. This is classic mature right bank. On the palate it is dry, full bodied and med + intensity. Acidity is medium, tannins are medium with a plush texture, alcohol is medium and in check. All seems well balanced. Flavors of leather, charred wood and tobacco pop up. There is a creaminess to this wine. It has aged wonderfully. The finish is powdery, long and noble. Truly enchanting bottle. Drink now or in the short term as it is fully mature now. PAIRING: Grilled ribeye and brats [A+]

Decanted in the glass for 1.5h. Dark red colour fading at the rim. Very smokey Bordeaux, black currant, lots of oak, and higher acidity than usual. Great!

Stunning nose of coffee and chocolate, really beguiling. Palate has a beautiful balance of acidity and fruit, more coffee and chocolate with succulent cassis, very smooth and nigh on resolved tannin after a short decant. Length is the only thing that falters with this wine, it's not got the developing length that I would like - otherwise it would be near perfect. A seriously impressive wine, in a stunning place right now if you like medium term drinking St. Emilion.
