  Decanted and drank over two days. Let breath a couple hours before pouring. Medium body, unlike the 2010 that is a heavier wine. Mild nose of black fruit and clove. Soft in the mouth, the fruit, some brett, no secondary flavors detected. Decent with food, one-dimensional, a weekday wine.

  Not been lucky enough to taste a haut-brion, chaval blanc or any of the first growth wines of Bordeaux but surely it can’t get much better than this ?! totally blown away by the quality of this wine on the night, and proving that wine is alive and constantly evolving and you can never right it off.. even when you think it’s done it surprises you. I opened a bottle of the 2006 only 3 years ago and and wasn’t overly impressed, I thought it tasted over ripe, over mature and probably done , what a difference a few years make.. on the night this was so good I can’t see anything in my cellar beating it, but who knows and only time will tell. Beautifuly harmonious with notes of Leather , spice , smoke , vanilla, and some sweet woody aromas instantly erupting from the glass - really nice bramble fruit and a lovely smooth complex finish. A cracking wine that really brightend up this cold January evening :)

  This is the best showing for this wine to date. Decanted two hours. Not as great as in the best vintages but really enjoyed and seemed to have more body than bottles opened up previously.
