Terrific nose; leather, black cherry and cigar box. Deep flavors followed on the palate with perhaps bit of blackberry as well, but blind in a group there would have been divided opinions about whether it was from California or Washington. Perfect bottle for a BYOB: it's immediately ready and contains very little sediment. Excellent.

The 2011 Collaboration V, 100% Cab from Ciel de Cheval and made by Chris Gorman, has evolved into a delightful, elegant Cabernet. Loaded with cassis and strawberry, saddle leather, herbs and some brambly earthiness, it is really compelling. Some pencil lead and light floral notes on the finish. The tannins have softened completely and are sweet and lush, but still present. Beautifully balanced, this is a gorgeous wine drinking really well right now. Can probably last another 7-10 years but may not improve much - it has really hit its stride!

Purple in color with some bricking at the edge of the glass. 15.3% ABV. Stunning nose of red fruits, leather, cedar and creosote. Full bodied with ample fruits and big tannins. On release this wine was big and voluptuous. It now has some really intriguing secondary notes as the fruit has become less prominent. Currants, cassis, plums and tobacco on the palate. Medium length on the finish with gritty tannins. This wine has stood the test of time despite the challenging vintage. Best over the next 2-3 years.

PnP. Deep, dark fruits, long finish. Some leathery nuances are sneaking it but it's not yet fully mature. Excellent!

Very nice. Nice (if low intensity) nose of leather and wood. Delicious palate of dark fruits and umami, tannin very smooth, long finish.
