Rubino intenso. Naso tra il tabacco (kentucky) e note animali, quasi borgognone, poi prugna, spezie indiane, note ematiche e goudron. Bocca intensa, assertiva, calda. Terziarizzazione incipiente. Da seguire

I should drink more barbera. This one has richness and depth with red and black fruits. Sweet framing tannins. Nicely balanced with good acid reining in the rich fruit and keeping it streamlined. Really great food wine but only drawback for me is 14.5% abv.

Powerful blackcurrant, tar and roses nose. Lovely palate texture. Orange rind, red and black fruits. Great tannins. I could have given it another point, but need to retaste. Great value (in the States, etc.) if you want a hit of good Piedmont wine.

Cavallotto Tasting: Musk, cherry, some meatiness and licorice. Savoury palate, with a vein of red fruit that lends some nice flavour alongside the texture of the more savoury notes. Liked the Langhe Nebbiolo from 2011 that I had next to this more, but still good.
