This is smack-dab in the zone right now. Dark fruits but very balanced and fully integrated with the oak - noticeably so even from a couple years ago. This should hold for a long time but it's drinking incredibly well right now. 2012 continues to be one of my favorite Bedrock vintages.

I have been holding this for 10 years and just opened my first bottle. I was worried by some of the reviews but this was fantastic. This is in a great drinking window right now and will keep for another 5+ ahead. I don’t see a reason to wait longer though. The tannins are still there, but very fine and light now. The flavors are dark berry and earth, maybe some light leathery notes. Great acidity here and it works well with hamburgers and would be good with a bolognese ragu. This is a field blend, and the grape varieties I see for Pagani Ranch on the internet are not consistent. Everyone says Zinfandel is predominant, with some Carignan, Alicante Bouschet and lots of others. If you had asked me to guess, I would have picked out the Carignan first followed by Zinfandel, Grenache and Alicante, but what do I know? Apparently no Grenache here but it fooled me. Whatever it is, it is elegant, medium bodied and acidic, and good with rich meats.
P.S. reading a wine magazine the following day, I discover that Alicante Bouschet is a cross with Grenache and Petit Bouschet, so maybe my guess on Grenache wasn’t so bad. Lots of that Grenache red fruit there.

This is the first bottle of our 3 bottle allocation and I’m glad we gave it a decade to sort it’s self out. Drank 2 small glasses through Coravin last night and it was still flabby and heavy, tonight we opened the bottle and gave it 2 hours to air out, tonight the fruit is bouncing out of the glass and drinking beautifully. 93

NYE Dinner with a roasted leg of lamb. This was a bit past prime I felt. Starting to get a touch pruney. My fault for letting it sit this long. Will get to my final bottle soon. Rich purple coloring, deep/dark profile. Pagani is always a bit gnarly and I like that.
