Decanted and aired for 3 hrs. Nose: Amazing 9/10. Lychee, black tea. Palate: 8/10. Medium-light body. Raspberry, tea. Soft, round tannin. Finish: Very good 7/10. Hints of iron at the end. Price: 8/10. ($75, 2023). Enjoyment: 9/10. Would buy again: maybe. Would not hold for much longer.

Dark ruby; cherry on the nose; a beautiful combination of blueberry, cassis, prune, and black cherry on the palate, with a subtle note of bitter seeds on the finish. These layers are gradually changing in the glass. Full body, perhaps a bit excessive in alcohol

Drinking beautifully. 1st night open. Violets, forest floor, black tea and raspberry couli. Very nice. *2nd night. Roses dominant on the palette. *4th night strawberries and hay. *5th night violets again and end of bottle. Epilogue: Great bottle, not bad at all for a non-descript Sonoma Coast. Definitely better than most on the Sonoma Coast. Beautiful. Been trying the Aubert portfolio. All impeccably good if not great.

I must say that I was shocked by the performance of this wine. I purchased upon release and had removed from professional storage. I was worried it would be over the hill. It is a beautiful and vibrant wine with wonderful red fruit note and a distinctive long finish. Palette which is in perfect balance is stronger than the nose but still a terrific wine. Does not show the bombastic characteristics of some of the single vineyard designations from this period for Aubert which is a plus. Enjoy!!
