45th Birthday Celebration (Chez Nanda): Side by side with the Grandes Ruchottes which was killer and fresh. This bottle of Batard showed heavy with oxidation settling in. Not fully off, but not what it should be.

"You only turn 45 once" (Chicago, IL): Next to a very fresh bottle of Grandes Ruchottes, it was pretty obvious that this was tiring and starting to show some browning. On the palate, there were some telltale signs of browned apple juice too. More the shame, as this wine seemed to have a really good sense of density and power.
