Brooding , dark fruit, significant licorice component, which I love. Reminds me of Casanova di Neri, which is a big compliment. Very nice, will benefit from more age to let tannins soften more.

Easy drinking, seems ready now. Sweet mild tannins, pleasant nose and typical brunello notes. Dry mouth feel at first that mellows in an hour. Very nice wine!

Decanted 3 hours and followed over 3 more - it improved throughout the night. Nose of dark fruit, dried cherry, forest floor and spice. Full and balanced with these same flavors following through on the palate and long finish. This is very good now after a long decant but with significant upside potential as it ages. I will try again in five years.
I am now trying Brunello younger than I used to as many producers have transitioned to a newer world style that drinks well (often better) young, but doesn’t age as well. It has helped me identify the age-improving Brunello candidates from those better consumed young. I got tired of drinking past-prime Brunello.

Part of 2010 BdM tasting.
Saturated black cherry color. Nose of cherries and orange zest with a little cream tart. Ripe plum and cherries on the palate. Rich and big.

Big and powerful, acidity not too pronounced. Dark fruit, somewhat heavy in style for the vintage.
Better on the 2nd day; more composed and relaxed, yet somehow even more power. This is very serious stuff.
