Floral and bright red fruit aromas. Could benefit from another year or 2 in bottle to gain some non-primary flavors, but very pleasant and easy to drink now.

Taste New Wines, Part 1 (San Diego Wine Co.): 100% Sangiovese fermented for 20-25 days in temp controlled s/s, aged for 12 mos in 60% Barriques (225 L) & 40% Large Casks (30 hL botti), then 7 mos in bottle before release; 13.5% ABV & 1.3 g/L R.S.
N: CLOSED; Earth atop cherries?
P: LM body; Rndish entry with NICE, almost swtish frt met by some astringent pucker which slowly, fairly seamlessly evolves into a LONG finish with a tangy/swtness ((65:35) & OCCASIONAL *glimpses* of a very, VERY slight bitterness to the dusty tannins. Deserves through '19, then drinking for 3-4 yrs more. IMPRESSIVE when compared to a "typical" Chianti Classico. My EXC-, poss EXC down the line. 92 pts Suckling & 88 WA. [This vendor's $15.99 is the 2nd lowest of wine-searcher's 4 offerings.]

The wine has medium acidity. It smells like butter, mushroom and lead pencil. It has medium body. The wine finishes long. It tastes somewhat cool, with fig, black currant and chocolate. The wine is ruby-orange colored. There is no sediment in the bottle. The texture is linear with a good balance of fruit, acid, and tannins.

Benvenuto Brunello NYC (Gotham Hall): Benvenuto Brunello NYC. Bright garnet> ruby, clear. Light>medium-bodied at this tender stage, with some tart cherry fruit, Tuscan dust/soil, pomegranate, and freshly cut red/purple flowers. Acids and finish are both medium+, suggesting that in 1-3 more years, this may very well fit into its (currently too large) clothes at a later date. I like it, but then I like really traditional, clean and pure wines. Thru 2025. recommended+
Tasted at Benvenuto Brunello NYC. Medium garnet color. Modern styled with a lot of oak treatment noticeable on the nose with vanilla, cherry and chocolate. Low to medium tannic and acid structure. Palate like the nose, pleasant but unremarkable.
