  Winebar [1 Rosé, 4 Whites, & 9 Reds] from 12/20/19 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): “Sourced from some of the finest vyds in the appellation, including Inferno, Grumello, & Fracia, sitting on the steep slopes of the Retiche Alps along the bank of the Adda river. Vyds have a due-S exposure & sit in loose, gravelly soil @ 900-1200 ft elev. After sorting the grapes are placed in small crates to slowly dry through the autumn & early winter for a period of 100 days.” Typically, “The dried grapes are then crushed & macerated for 12 days followed by a short resting period in s/s. The wines are aged in FR oak casks for 20-24 mos before bottling.” 15.5% ABV
  
  N: CLOSED; RIPE berries with HINTS of pyrazines? Intensity lurking?
  
  P: Med body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) fairly quickly met by an astringent pucker which stays in contact with the init frt as it pretty much works itself out by the END of the LONG, balanced finish with a tangy/SWTNESS to the firming, dusty tannins. NEEDS/deserves another yr or so, then at LEAST *approaching* its 10th? My VG+/EXC-, likely the higher IF one is seeking something "different"/out of the ordinary. 91 pts WS (Napjus, 11/15/18), 90 5StarWines - Vinitaly (3/13/18), "Outstanding" Forbes (Hyland, 3/21/19), & Tre Bicchieri 2017 from Gambero Rosso (6/1/18). [Check with this vendor if interested in their *very* COMPETITIVE price.]
