Gorgeous Zin with a fresh rip blackberry, boysenberry, bramble and spice character.
Blend of two vineyards located on Schmiedt Road in Lodi. It's predominately from Katushas’ along with a quotient from the excellent Kirschenmann Vineyard located on the other side of road

Dense nose of dark plum, dry blackberry, boysenberry, pain grille, and firewood. Ripe wild blackberry fruit starts the palate, then quick acidic rush, then getting a little grainy texture with purple fruits, anise, campfire smoke. Rustic finish of oak, firm tannins, grilled meats, dark fruits, and a leather finale. A rustic take on Zin, but well-done.

PnP. Nose of both fresh and cooked red fruit, eucalyptus, and wet oak. Bright cherry with cranberry, a bit of sour cherry followed by a pile of wood and earth A charcoal note leads the finish, adding soft tannins, more red fruit, some acidity, and wet earthiness on the medium finish.

Consistent with previous notes. Drinking well immediately upon opening. Nice subtle spice and approach with this red. Love the restraint.
