Coming along nicely, this has developed new aromas and flavours. The nose still has lime and acacia, but now the peach is more yellow than white, with orange blossom and peel. In the mouth, still the bright, crisp attack, but with bitter orange added to the lemon and lime, before a more honeyed middle section and a peach-dominated but crisp finish.
Definitely new-breed Anjou, this is one for those who have tried and enjoyed wines by Château de Plaisance or Domaine Ogereau. For me this is so much more fun than the Huet Le Mont Sec 2017 I had last weekend.

Chenin tasting at home with the gang (blind). Exotic fruits on the nose (pineapple, mango) which makes this wine totally different from the other wines in the line up (which all had pear in common). Eli loved it but pretty much finished last for rest of the group (certainly for me). Felt too “international” in style and kind of a pirate wine in that line up. Too much make up from winemaking and lost its sense of place for me.

YAWG Chenin Tasting (X place): Some toast, burnt marmalade, pineapple on the nose. Creamy and round on the palate. Bruised apple. I'd put this in the crowd-pleasing camp and can see why it's popular - that said, for me, I think I prefer a sharper and leaner style.

This is a delicious Chenin Blanc, which has been well reviewed here already. I thought it was best after about two hours in a decanter, and not too cold. It’s stood up very well to mildly spicy food. regrettably it was my only bottle, I wish I had a few more to leave in the cellar for a few years.
