PnP, but needed a decant. Black fruit, red raspberry, plum, espresso, and spice, anise on the nose. Similar flavors. Medium body with a long smooth finish. Dusty tannin in the finish. Showing well now, but could improve with a few years.

Decanted 60 minutes then returned to the bottle for transport to a restaurant and decanted a second time at the table where it was consumed over 2 hours out of Grassl 1855 stems. The wine was paired with a bone-in ribeye.
The color was deep/dark purple. The nose was of blue and black fruits, cigar box, and spice. The palate was of blackberry, cocoa, brown spices and earth. There was medium tannins that became more present over time. The wine was full bodied with a fairly long finish. It is not a terribly complex wine but it was very enjoyable to drink.

2021 Napa - June 9-12: Outstanding. This edged out the Zieger block Zin for wine of the visit. Nice tannic structure and acid for the long haul. Red and black higher toned fruit. This was a wine I kept my nose in when I wasn’t laughing and it glided effortlessly over the palate, medium long finish. Bought 6.
