  • Lasted tasted 3 years ago, it mirrors my previous experience. I do feel that this is in its peak window, but the finish is still its Achille's heel. The nose is rich with cherry, red berry, and plum with hints of vanilla. The palate has excellent balance and depth, but the tannin end palate and on the finish is enamel stripping. I thought that time would address this, but 3 years have not made a difference. Unfortunately, this does not seem to following the trajectory of the L'Evangile and the Trotanoy from 1998 which continue to go from strength to strength.

  • Very good. Cork was crumbly, but minimal seepage.
    Decanted for 45 minutes.
Color dark red. Minimal to no brickish red.
    Legs medium to running fast.
    Very nice nose.
Flavor very good. Lots of body still. Tannins smooth. A little astringent but not in a way that’s off putting.
Very tasty. Doesn’t taste 28? Would drink now. Maybe decant a little longer.

  • Probably needed a longer decant, but still a great Old World Bordeaux

  • Double decanted for 4 hours. This wine has finally come out of its shell. It upstage the lafite and Lynch bages tonight. It was better right out of the gate and stayed well ahead throughout the night and still ok in day 3. Dark cherry fruit with hint if oyster shell and potent intensity/mud palate balanced by well judged acidity.

  • Same score as 7/19 and 7/20. (94)
Double decanted for about an hour before bringing to a friend’s house where it was enjoyed by all. Intense plum and tobacco on the nose, the palate is still delicious but starting to fade relative to the intensity of the nose. Still an excellent wine, unlikely to improve but no rush to drink

(Clos l'Eglise) Big and rich with wonderful depth on the palate with tremendous richness without a sense of heaviness. Great minerality with nice soft velvety mouthfeel. Burgundian almost. Long finish and the nose really kinked out with aeration. Lovely with enormous potential.
