2002 BROGAN CELLARS RUSSAIN RIVER VALLEY PINOT NOIR- 14.2%abv; great Pinot; such an inviting nose of spicy red cherry and a hint of pepper; more of the same in the taste to my delight; it had a great smooth silky mouthfeel and long finish; it`s structured to go for much longer and it`s so good now, If I had some, it would be difficult to resist aging and would be a candidate for off premises storage.

Best CA Pinot I've had in a while. What an excellent find for an online auction wine. Blows the doors off all of that overrated anti flavor elite crap that everyone thinks will age so well (absolutely unfounded). This was a modern style that's aging gorgeously. I'll try to find some more of these.

this wine was initially very hot, so i decanted it. now, three hours later, i am enjoying it. it's a big, bold expression of the grape, but manages to stay on the correct side of the fence regarding extraction. i'm all over the board with this producer, but margie shows signs of excellence, and i keep buying the occasional bottle. black and red and still somewhat tannic, i know that she also prefers that you hold her wines longer than this. what can you do? i rather view this as a guilty pleasure, with no apologies. why? because brogan is hardly a critics' darling. i suggest you try the 01 helio doro as well, VERY good.
