Pyramid Valley (Best Cellars, Crown Street): More muted and meaty than the Pyramid Valley with slight ripe pear fruit. On the palate it's juicier with obvious sweet spice over the top of the muted pear fruit. Some mid palate grip as well. Hmm.

A private lunch (Restaurant Tennerhof, Kitzbühel, Austriia): Harvested on 23 October 2013, alcohol a relatively moderate 13.5% Rich but lively straw yellow; rich and impressive nose, deep and spicy, herbs and minerals, ripe fruit, good varietal typicity in spite of some botrytis; very good weight on the palate, the richness balanced by juicy acidity, relatively delicate flavours for such a powerful wine, honey and peach, earth; long finish but vinous and honeyed rather than precise or detailed.
