Very good but very young. Savoury notes of tar and char along with red and black fruits. Medium plus weight. Not a massive structure. More understated and Bordeaux like than I was expecting. Medium finish, hints of complexity. Wait 5 to 10 years.

Decanted for three hours. Red pepper pesto, blackberries, red currants, lilies and red lava. Polished and very poised, with so much backbone and focus. Showing so many layers and persona. There’s a dark pudding aspect on the palate. Just gorgeous. Absolutely astounding. Possibly my favorite from here. Truly a core of strength and vitality. A classic in every manner. Drink 2026 - 2041.

Decanted for four hours. Dark and red fruits such as blackberries and raspberries, with red currants, leather, flower shop and river rocks. There’s some vanilla too. Very layered, long and the middle palate is exceptional. Fine, yet grainy tannins. Full body with this evident elegance. Structured and designed to cellar. This is similar to the ‘12 and ‘08, but even better. It remains one of the best bottles out of California. Drink 2026 -.
