Beh, pensavo peggio [cit.]. Naso sussurrato di frutta matura, passita senza essere cotta, davvero aggraziato. I problemi arrivano al sorso: secco, corto, amaro e alcolico, trova in qualche modo un equilibrio tra tutti questi spigoli diventando anche piacevole. La chiusura quella no, davvero troppo tannica e severa. Corretto il prezzo.

Lovely pour, proper old-fashioned Southern Italy. Mostly cherry notes on the palate, not super-complicated but a nicely balanced companion to tomato-heavy dishes, with a bit of lingering heat. Nicely resolved, probably will only fade from here so I'm drinking the rest of my inventory sooner than later.

Brief decant. Med garnet core with a clear rim. Smells cheap. Nose of cherry Jolly Rancher, anise, fallen leaves, and a bit of alcoholic heat. A bit of alcohol and dark fruit on the entry. More dark and red fruits on the mid with little complexity and med acid. Finish is med with late-debuting mature tannins and continued alcoholic presence. Simple, hot, and tired. Poor QPR at $18. Good 84.

Ruby color with a touch of amber due to its age. Notes of cocoa and plums, low acid, medium body with a smooth finish. Good price. A great midweek wine!

This time I noticed a lot of leather notes, that were initially a little much. After some time open, it settled down and really offset a roast duck. Excellent.
