Blah. Across the board, "Private Selection" is clearly Mondavi's foray into the marketing gimmick/cheap wine category. There's a decent flavor here or two, but mostly it's nose wrinkling stuff.

Oakiness and refinement rather than explosive fruit that seems to be the tendency of American Pinot Noir. Some body combined with an adequate finish. Given the options out there we are unlikely to buy another however.
