Oregon Trip-Day 2 (Here and there, Willamette Valley): Medium yellow. At first, ripe orchard fruit and vanilla on the nose, then with air more saline/iodine emerged. Fabulous enveloping texture, outstanding acidity that exceeded that in the 2010 Vaillons last night. The rich pear fruit became more lemony over time, and it veered more toward a typical Chablisien profile. Superb and still embryonic.

When opened, this bottle seemed fine if a bit tight. And given the vintage we had high expectations. But it never opened up, even over four hours. If anything, it went into more of a shell. Hopefully just an odd/off bottle.

Atlas Tasting menu with Chef Freddy Money: Incredible, rich still with citrus and LONG finish. There is a reason Raveneau is one of the most respected producers in Chablis. Fabulous pairing with white asparagus, caviar beurre blanc with lemon and chives Amazing 10-course tasting that was a worldwide tour touching down in Spain, Japan, Singapore and Georgia among Chef's influences. Life is good!

Wine gathering at RJ's; 4/4/2023-4/7/2023 (South Carolina): Classic Raveneau nose displaying generous pure white fruit, pear, apple, white peach, strong beeswax, honeysuckle, saline, cool mountain stream, a hint of mint, coriander seeds, spicy spices and crushed rocks. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of delicious pure white fruit, exceptional purity, energy and balance, medium acidity that is supported by strong limestone mineral and saline, and a long pure white fruit driven finish with beeswax at the end. This youthful example is drinking incredibly well.
