Remarkably pale, young and austere this atypical Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey might blossom with even more bottle age. For now though it’s about the acid, minerals and steel. More mid palate richness would be most welcome. Very odd for soft vintage 2011 white Burgundy which is mostly beyond peak or fading.

Burgundy For Lunch Bunch Holiday Event 2023 (Phoenix, AZ USA): Young, tense/nervy, with a loooong finish that makes the mouth water. Lovely wine that clearly showed itself to be related to wine 1 in this flight -- which turned out to be 15 PYCM BBM.
Served blind, I thought this was Ramonet as did everyone else at the table. The reveal was shocking, it had none the reduction that we often associate with PYCM of this era.

Big, boisterous and bold. The acidity is not quite up to the task, however. Oaky. Ripe to over-ripe yellow fruit. It’s a good drink but rather tiring and does not resemble a classical Chevalier-Montrachet. Not much detail or nuance.

This wasn't open initially, and unfortunately I didn't get back to it over the course of the long lunch. Those that did indicated the improvement was significant. Judgement reserved, on a vintage I've not tried previously.

As a non pycm fan, this wine is very enjoyable for me. Nose has some match stick, minerals, lemon zest and vanilla oak. Palate has very good acidity and salinity but its very elegant and precise. The oak is a bit prevalent at this stage, like most pycm white. It has good potential if you give it another 4-5 years. 93 pt for the potential. 92 for tonight.
