SangioFest, Volume III "It's my favourite spot" (Chicago, IL): Such a giving, heart-on-its-sleeve wine. Incredible amount of fruit here. Almost like fruit punch, this is so easy to enjoy. Riper, with a slightly candied quality to the fruit, but it's handled in such a deft way that this never feels overly sweet or cloying. Light, as Soldera is, and with all the gravitas one would expect of a wine of this stature. Among my favourite wines this evening -- this was just so exuberant and joyous to drink.

Smoking good. Aromatics Rayas-ish as other tasters observed palate is even more complex, dancing and evolving between rose hips and garden herbs. Sublime. Best brunello ever. Sold

After a spoiled 1981 we opted for the more dependable one and what a comeback. We chose not to decant but left it to rest in bottle and we feel it was the right call. Soft, pure and a wine to cherish even for non believers in BdM ( or Sangiovese for that part in general) like Andreas. Soft fruit, bright as this is still very much youthful, but also harmonious and with an elegance to it that is unique for the style. Very much polished wine and an easy 95. We do hope to cross paths with it again in the future too!

A lovely bottle with sexy red fruits with plenty of floral and spice complexity. Sensual textures. Just entering a fun drinking window.

Corney & Barrow - Soldera Masterclass (Andaz Hotel - Studio II): Pale garnet, and with browning edges. Very ripe, nearly cooked cherries, dried florals and twigs, cinnamon and cocoa
