4th Saturday Brown Bagger (EBCC): Double blind. Notes of cinnamon, cherry, tobacco and earth. Medium tannins. Red plum, raspberry and earthy elements on the palate. Took a while to open and fully reveal itself, but clearly Bordeaux. Seemed much older than 2015 and ready now if this was a representative sample. (R&D)

6-hour decant. Rust rim. Elegant. Medium-light body. A bottle that has seemed to be more aged than expected, but sufficient fruit and body remains to provide enjoyment. Lovely with filet mignon.

It's not a wine that needs 15-30 years like its senior vine sibling VCC, but it is ageing nicely. Lovely dark chocolate and black cherry center, unctuous mouthful and nice faintly grippy finish. Lovely stuff.

Unlike prior bottle. This was a bit hot thin and angular, with a core of plump red fruits. Off kilter. No obvious flaw. Same batch as prior bottle.
