Drank a few times over the last weeks. Full bodied and ready to drink as promised by Jan Thienpont. This one was the most complex bottle as it got a 30 minute decant and more time in the glass. An array of fruit aromas with air finally contributing to smoke and herbs and an even bolder body. Nicely balanced but smooth tannins also give structure and tension and pave the way for a long finish right from the beginning. More fun than Ornellaia 2019 drank aside.
Tanners: This has a silky smoothness with lovely ripe tannins, elegant red fruit and wonderful length. Anson: Beautifully mouthwatering, with rosebud notes alongside ripe berry fruits, and slight hints of smoked cigar box on the finish. Perrotti-Brown: Expressive notions of spiced blackberries, Black Forest cake and stewed plums, plus hints of cinnamon toast, dusty earth and iron ore, with a touch of potpourri.

WOTN. Beautiful wine that begs for 5 years of cellar time. Extremely balanced and delicious.
