Trade Tasting (Monopole, Sydney): good quality oak, savoury cherry, a slightly baked spice quite lends a little cinnamon and nutmeg, forest floor. Juicy, fleshy plenty of woody texture, non-intrusive alcohol warmth on the finish, rich. Woof.

I was looking forward to try a low-mid level Pinot Noirs from the two most renowned Pinot Noir specialitsts of Germany's Ahr region, itself quite focussed on Pinot Noir.
Both cost 25 EUR and both are from 2019.
Jean Stoffen's JS was a balanced, fun wine, although clearly a base wine and as such overpriced at 25 EUR.
This Meyer-Näkel Blauschiefer however is simply the emptiest, most meaningless wine I've had in a good while, and I'm tempted to do something I've never done before: write to the winery and demand my money back.
This is basically red water with few wine-like characteristics even. A cheat.
For 25 EUR. Disgusting.
P.S. this excourse did not warm me towards the Ahr region. In the Pfalz, and even in Baden (itself operating with rather hefty prices) I get MUCH more Pinot Noir quality for the money.

Agree with Calypse
Decanted one hour, could have done with more
Savoury rather than fruity, smoke notes on nose, bitter cherry on finish
