Still an astonishing deep ruby, maybe just some lightening. Much more elegant than 8 years ago but still very fruity and lively. Some red as well as black fruits. Dark fine chocolate and espresso. Tannins now quite smooth though still quite forceful. Decent acidity. Alcohol a little punchy. Powerful and intense. Serious wine, ageing well.

Deep dark ruby. A wall of black berry and cherry fruits. Pretty monolithic. Some smokiness, some meatiness. Decent acidity. Quite smooth, almost velvety, tannins. Something like dark chocolate too. Still very primary but the alcohol didn't overwhelm this one. Suspect time will bring more interest.

Animale nose, some murkiness. Bright fruit, pretty long finish. A bit less depth than the '05, but a very nice, almost more approachable style. You can taste the heat of the vintage, so may not improve much. Some nice coffee and butterscotch tones.

Pingus & Family (Roberson Wine, South Ken, London): Dark red with brownish rim. Lots of ripeness here, roast meat, animal notes on the nose. Smoky. Oaky notes too. Definitely the heat of the vintage is evident. High Extraction style and oak. 14% alc. 90-91.
