The color was quite dark, almost like a port. Wow. The wine was extremely good and quite complex. It had a pleasing nose and a very long finish. A wine I will remember for a long time. One of the best wines of the year. Unfortunately, due to the age, I was afraid to give it 30+ minutes in the decanter before consumption. It only had about 15 minutes in the decanter before we started the meal (lobster served chilled with melted butter).

Med red, brown edge. Leather , licorice and prune nose. Lots of flavour, ginger snap ,tar, mint. Tannin is firm and not obtrusive. This opens nicely with time in the glass.
Bricking red, orangeskin rim, nicely expressive nose with dried cherry, rosehips, leather, eucalyptus. Plus acidity and leads an energetic but suave mouthfeel. Paired great with a creamy pasta dish with herbs and mushrooms. Ten+ years after my first bottle, and this is much better. Drinking well, and will hold a while.

I found this bottle leaking a little bit in my cellar, so I opened it. Still seems good, but don't know if its reflective of the avg bottle. Bricky in color. Elegant and complex. Notes of cherries, leather, earth, and flowers.
